[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Vincent Law
Age: actual age unknown; appears to be in early twenties
Gender: Male
Canon: Ergo Proxy
Timeline: post series
Background: link
Personality:
When first meeting Vincent, many may develop the impression that he is a hardworking, ordinary guy. His diligent characteristic easily stems from the fact that he works as a member of the AutoReiv Disposal Unit, which is mostly consisted of Mosk immigrants working to receive their citizenship for Romdeau. Aside from his job, though, Vincent seems to have nothing else going for him, so it’s no surprise really that he is mostly seen as hardworking from the get go. Despite this initial notion, however, there seems to be more about Vincent Law than meets the eye…
To appeal to those of Romdeau so that he may have a good chance at obtaining his citizenship, Vincent portrays himself as a meek and obedient person, following orders without hesitation and keeping most of his thoughts and feelings to himself. It isn’t until the strange occurrences within Romdeau and his eventual self-expulsion that we begin to see Vincent’s true personality begin to shine.
Generally kind and caring, Vincent starts the series as a quiet and unconfident individual. Even after accepting the fact that he no longer has a chance of becoming a citizen, he remains quiet and unsure of what to do with himself. Eventually, though, his confidence starts to grow, and as he travels he becomes more determined regarding what he has to do. He holds a pacifistic mind and does not enjoy conflicts, preferring to run from or avoid them all together. We see this mostly when he runs from the Security Bureau in the beginning, or alternatively when he flees from Kazkis Proxy. In terms of who he is, Vincent struggles with the idea of himself being a proxy. He is unsure at first, when accusations of him being connected to the proxies rises, and retorts with questions and confusion to the situation. As he travels though, he begins to learn more and more of proxies and of his past, and eventually he comes to accept the reality of who is.
His personality seems to shift when his mind reprograms to his proxy self, and we see him showing a much more confident and powerful persona. Likewise, he seems unopposed to fighting when he is in said mindset, though it's mostly to prevent himself from being injured or from general danger. His proxy self seems to enjoy that thrill of danger though, as we see when his smirks at Re-l's threat to shoot and kill him with the FP weapons. This change in personality, however, only happens when Vincent is faced with potential danger; not once do we see him slip into his Proxy self when there is peace.
Aside from his more serious characteristics, Vincent shows a variety of softer traits as well. He shows great interest in taking up daily chores, having been left responsible to clean and organize the Rabbit at times, as well as be the one to cook. He's also shown to be managing when the issue calls for it, instructing Re-l to cut back on time spent in the shower to save water, as well as rationing meals to ensure that they have enough to last for the week. He's even been seen taking care of grocery shopping in one instance, ultimately taking on a sort of domestic lifestyle. Alternatively, he's also capable of showing a more playful side as well, taking time to do fun activities with Pino when they have the time to do so.
It is from here, then, that we can begin to focus on Vincent's relationships, particularly with the two individuals he ends up traveling with. Throughout the entire series, he develops a strong bond with the companion-type autoreiv named Pino, who seems to take a strong liking to him upon their meeting. As they endure the outside world together, and eventually travel to Mosk, Vincent more or less takes on an older brother role with her, playing and having fun with her as well as doing whatever he can to protect her or keep her from being destroyed. Likewise, Pino provides him company once he becomes the sole survivor from the Commune, and he eventually mentions feeling closer to her, an autoreiv, than he does to humans.
Another relationship worth mentioning is the one he has with Re-l Mayer. Vincent has a very strong admiration for Re-l, having fallen in love with her when he first met her at his interview. Despite his feelings for her, he mostly keeps them to himself, especially when he meets with her again throughout the course of the series. He eventually confesses to her during their travel to Mosk, though he realizes that the feelings are mostly one-sided. Despite that, however, he does not let go of those feelings, and continues to care for Re-l, doing whatever he can to stay on her good side.
Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game?
Despite initial reluctance to fight, Vincent would still want to do what he can to assist in helping end the war, whether it means being behind the scenes or on the battlefield.

List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:
[ WEAPON ]
While Vincent has been seen in the frontlines of battle numerous times before, his reasons for partaking in a battle are strictly based on necessity. He is not one to charge headfirst into a fight, preferring to avoid battle instead. When he is engaged in battle, he fights mostly to fend for himself. An example of this is in the beginning of the series when he tries to fend off Monad Proxy, who is chasing after him, by shooting at her. When fighting, he is a force to be reckoned with, showing immense strength and power in his attacks. While he seems to be more interested to fight as Ergo Proxy, he still maintains a certain control over himself, and is capable of returning to his human mindset when the time is necessary.
Soul Description:
Six adjectives: determined, diligent, strong, pacifistic, caring, domestic
image link; this is a general design of what Vincent’s soul will look like. The mask is remnant of his proxy self, considering how he wears a similar mask when in his Ergo Proxy form.
(Weapon Form):
Vincent's weapon form will be that of Re-l's sidearm, the 'Awakening' R-SCG 12 Shotgun. (image link)
As for ability, Vincent will have an ability called Proxy Pulse. This particular shot will be much more powerful than the regular shots his weapon form will shoot.

Despite initial reluctance to fight, Vincent would still want to do what he can to assist in helping end the war, whether it means being behind the scenes or on the battlefield.
List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign:
- While he will no longer be able to change into Ergo Proxy’s form, Vincent will still maintain the ability to slip into the proxy’s persona. Seeing how different the two personalities are from one another, it will be noticeable when Vincent changes between them.
- Along with this, Vincent will also retain his speed and strength, however they will both be drastically reduced to athlete levels instead of superhuman levels.
List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:
- His immune system will no longer have the influence of his proxy self, so recovering from illnesses or other ailments will take longer (ie, normal time if he were a human).
- He will no longer be able to sense the presence of other proxies within the vicinity.
- He will be less resistant to colder weather.
